Harry Potter star Emma Watson, the “face” of British top fashion label Burberry, has recently done a campaign with someone very familiar to her: 17-year-old brother Alex Watson. Alex recently told British Vogue that he was shopping in Burberry for something to wear to one of Emma’s Harry Potter premiere’s when he was approached about the possibility of modeling.

Fortunately, he and his big sis get along well, and Alex looks to her for tips on-set. Her main tip for her brother? “Relax and don’t be scared.”

Though fashion industry modeling wasn’t what he set out to do career-wise, Alex says he loves being a model and is a huge fan of fashion designers Burberry, telling Vogue, “I love its iconic British heritage look but also the way it always keeps up with the times.”

Supermodel of the 80s Elle Macpherson, now 47, will be a judge on the new season of Britain’s Next Top Model, and fashion industry star Julian Macdonald, for one, is thrilled about it. The new season starts Monday, July 5.

“If I was a woman, I wouldn’t mind being Elle,” said Macdonald, at a launch party for the show. In fact, he recently told Now magazine that the Australian fashion star was the reason he chose to join the show, saying, “When I got the call from her, I knew it was serious. Elle only ever gives 100 percent.”

Macpherson is the executive producer for BNTM, and the one who personally selected the 25 aspiring models, who will battle it out in the rarefied world of couture fashion designers for the title of Britain’s Next Top Model.

The flame-haired British beauty admits her heart lies in acting, and her days left in the modeling world may be numbered.

She said: “I love acting and if the right opportunity did come along I would definitely consider quitting altogether.

“It is certainly something I want to prioritise in the future. It’s not a finite decision though – I may not get the opportunity. If a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity came along I’d even consider leaving Cambridge University to do a film. I’d definitely weigh up my options and talk to my tutors about flexibility.”

However the 22-year-old model admits her time in the industry has helped her develop as an actress.

She told Vogue.co.uk: “It’s hard to distinguish whether it has helped but I don’t know any other way. It’s definitely helped confidence wise. I find acting much more of a challenge – acting is definitely harder.”

Recently Lily confessed she was not into following trends and prefers to wear timeless pieces.

She told BANG Showbiz: “To be honest, I’m not a huge follower of trends. I just go with what I feel and what I like, I have a lot of things in my wardrobe that like I consider quite timeless and that I’ll wear again and again through the years.”

The ‘Mean Girls’ actress – who currently has to wear a court-ordered alcohol monitoring SCRAM bracelet on her ankle  – is planning to expand her 6126 fashion line to include accessories and wants to front the promotional campaign herself.

Richard Luna – an executive at The California Bag, who plan to license the range – told LA magazine: “We’re thinking of having police on hand so we can remove the ankle bracelet for the pictures.”

However, the bracelet could later be airbrushed out of the images.

Lindsay’s bags will retail for $200-$600 at Nordstrom in the US, while a less expensive line – entitled 7286 in honor of the actress’ birthday – will be sold in Macy’s.

It was recently reported that Lindsay has been working with Los Angeles clothing firm Ed Hardy on a range of handbags.

A source said: “Lindsay and the design team at Ed Hardy have mutual friends, and they knew she was interested in looking for a handbag license and partner. They thought she’d be a good fit and so did she.

“As of last week, there are three collections in development and numerous more are expected. Lindsay is very directly involved with the project, and she’s always pulling things online and from magazines for ideas.”

In 2007, Lindsay fronted a Jill Stuart handbags campaign, following the success of a Dooney and Bourke one in 2004.

The model-and-actress admits she has to be careful with her skin, but claims a life in the spotlight has helped her hone her beauty skills.

The 33-year-old star said: “I must be very careful with my skin from modelling and working under hot lights; I break out easily. I never go to sleep without taking off my make-up.”

The German-born beauty – who is currently dating actor Joshua Jackson – also says she is a true believer in style over comfort, no matter what the consequences.

She told Allure magazine: “Two years ago, I wore a haute couture gown to the Venice Film Festival, and it had a full-on corset-it was gorgeous, but it was a runway piece, and it hadn’t been made for life.

“The bodice didn’t have one of those openings at the bottom. I nearly fainted because it was so tight, and I had to go to the bathroom so badly, but it would have taken an hour to get out of that dress. But it was so gorgeous!”

Previously Diane has revealed she likes to dress up for Joshua and always makes an effort with her clothes.

She said: “I still think it’s important to put on some make-up and a nice dress for my boyfriend. I’m not one of those girls who stops working and just throws on sweatpants.”

The ‘Can’t Be Tamed’ singer says she chooses her outfits based on what her music sounds like and doesn’t deserve her harsh critics.

She said: “I’m not trying to be ’sl***y.’ I’m not trying to be like, go to the club and get a bunch of guys. what I’m trying to do is to make a point with my record and look consistent, in the way my record sounds and the way I dress.”

The 17-year-old singer believes people still consider her to be much younger than she is and thinks she should be allowed to show off her body.

She said: “When you’re 11, the word you would use to describe someone is definitely not sexy, and as you get older I think you grow into that. And I think I’ve done that but that’s not my thing. That’s not what I’m trying to do to sell records. I want people to buy my record because of my music. I’m really comfortable with my body, I work really hard to be fit and to know that I can wear whatever makes me most comfortable.”

The reality TV star – who is currently promoting her House of Harlow 1960 and Winter Kate autumn/winter 2010/11 fashion ranges – says she often gets inspired by seeing what other people are wearing and then giving items her own unique twist.

She said: “I was walking around the other day and I saw this woman wearing this great hat and I thought actually that’d make a really good bag so we turned it upside down and now it’s a great looking bag.”

Nicole – who has two children, Harlow, two, and nine-month-old Sparrow with fiance Joel Madden – also revealed she has had to alter her dress sense since becoming a mother to make it practical yet still stylish.

She told vogue.com: “I’m a busy working mother. I’m all for what’s comfortable but I don’t think people today make enough effort with what they wear. At the same time I don’t want to have to get out of bed early to decide what to put on. My jackets are my favourite part of my collection because you can just throw one on over jeans and a vest and it looks like you’ve made an effort.”

The reality TV star recently shed 15lbs in weight but is determined to keep her curves in check by making sure she exercises regularly to make up for her indulging in the occasional treat.

She said: “I do love my sweet things and my chocolate but that only means I have to work out harder and more often. That’s the trick – you can have a little of what you like but then you have to balance that in some way. For me that’s exercise so it’s no problem.”

While she is happy to undergo regular workouts, Kim recently revealed she always needs to look stylish when she goes to the gym.

The 29-year-old socialite – who recently launched her own work-out apparel brand Bravada International – said: “The line is something that I’ve aligned myself with because it’s something that I wear all the time. “I mean, it’s really hard for me to find fitness clothes and the sports bras sometimes don’t fit, or the pants are all different sizes – this line is all only one size and it really does fit all my sisters and they’re all different sizes. It’s so stretchy, and it’s stylish.

You wanna look good when you go to the gym. You wanna feel your best.”

Gwen Stefani feels safe in London

The No Doubt singer – who has two children, Kingston, four, and 20-month-old Zuma, with British husband Gavin Rossdale – splits her time between the English capital and Los Angeles and enjoys the lifestyle she has in the British city because it’s more laid back.

She said: “I miss my family when I’m in England. And when I’m in Los Angeles, I miss the role I have when I’m in London. Usually I’m not working in London, so Gavin spoils me and I get to be really dependent.

“I don’t drive when I’m there and I like that. It’s a different lifestyle to be able to walk to the little village and get milk. I
take Kingston to the gym with me, with no nanny or assistant and that would be very rare in Los Angeles – that I could actually go somewhere on my own. Things can get out of hand with the paparazzi, so I don’t feel safe.”

The 40-year-old blond also admitted splitting time between both countries is started to effect little Kingston’s accent.
She explained to Britain’s InStyle magazine: “I can’t do an English accent – I can’t even pretend. But kids are like little sponges. Once in a while, Kingston will pick up a word, like, ‘I’m going to have a bahhth.’ And I’m like, ‘Really? A bahhth?!’ ”
